Kurtis Proksch is the founder and head coach at 1-2-1 Fitness, where the focus is simple: helping busy people train effectively without overcomplicating fitness.

With a background in strength and conditioning, personal training, nutrition, and corrective exercise, Kurtis takes an evidence-based, individualized approach to coaching. His work is centered on building programs that fit real schedules, real constraints, and real lives — not idealized routines that are hard to sustain.

His background also includes high-level competitive athletics as a multiple-time World Champion in karate and kickboxing and a former Team Canada athlete. This experience informs a calm, disciplined coaching style focused on preparation, consistency, and long-term progress rather than intensity for its own sake.

Kurtis has worked with a wide range of clients, from professionals new to training to experienced gym-goers and athletes. His experience includes serving as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he refined his ability to tailor programs to individual needs while managing performance, recovery, and long-term progression.

Across both in-person and remote coaching, Kurtis has helped hundreds of clients improve body composition, build strength, and stay consistent — without extreme dieting or unnecessary complexity. His coaching emphasizes efficiency, adaptability, and long-term results over short-term fixes.

At the core of Kurtis’ philosophy is education. Clients aren’t just told what to do — they learn how to train and make decisions confidently on their own. Every program is designed to be practical, sustainable, and easy to integrate into daily life.
1-2-1 Fitness provides personalized coaching for busy professionals who want a clear, effective approach to training.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a gym membership for coaching?
No. Whether you choose in-person or online coaching, we adapt your program to your available environment and equipment. Many of our online clients train from home gyms or condo gyms.
Can you provide specific meal plans?
While we don’t provide rigid meal plans, our nutrition guidance covers calories, macronutrients, meal timing, and food choices to support your fitness goals in a flexible, sustainable way.

Which coaching option is best for me?
The best option depends on your goals, training history, budget, and preferences. A free consultation call helps determine the most suitable approach for you. If you prefer a hands-on coaching setup, in-person or virtual personal training may be the best fit. If you’re more self-directed, remote coaching may be a better option. A consultation call allows us to discuss your unique goals and determine what will work best for you.
Does coaching really work?
Absolutely. Both our in-person and online coaching options are highly effective for achieving a wide range of fitness goals. With personalized programming and ongoing support, we’re confident that one of our services can help you succeed.

Can coaching improve my exercise form?
Yes. In-person sessions and virtual personal training allow for direct coaching and real-time feedback. Remote coaching clients can also submit form videos for review and guidance.

What’s included in a free consultation?
We’ll discuss your fitness and nutrition history, goals, schedule, and preferences. This call helps us outline a clear plan of action and determine the most effective coaching option for you.

Is personalized coaching worth the investment?
Absolutely. Personalized coaching helps you reach your fitness and nutrition goals more efficiently, provides accountability, and teaches strategies to maintain progress long-term. This often saves both time and money by avoiding trial-and-error approaches. With our satisfaction guarantee, you can get started with confidence.
